The British Approved Names (BAN) is the official, standardised name assigned to a pharmaceutical substance by the British Pharmacopoeia Commission (BPC), ensuring consistency and clarity in drug naming.

You can purchase a BAN online licence, which includes the latest BAN 2026 edition along with all updates dating back to BAN 2012. This comprehensive, authoritative resource supports regulatory compliance, accurate product labelling, and safe prescribing.
